Chuck Schumer and the Democrats were hoping for a final, decisive victory.
But they just got some bad news.
And that’s because Donald Trump hit Chuck Schumer with this nasty surprise that will devastate Democrats.
Republican Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler will face Democrat challengers Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in a pair of runoff races on January 5.
With Republicans currently holding a 50 to 48 edge, these two elections will determine control of the Senate.
Democrats hoped that President Trump’s allies in Georgia urging Republicans not to vote in a rigged election until Georgia addressed gaps in election security and awarded the state to Trump because of fraud would depress GOP turnout and hand the races to Democrats.
Liberals also hoped the President’s charges of voter fraud and a rigged election would convince Republicans that their votes didn’t count since the Democrats would just steal the election anyway and that GOP voters wouldn’t turn out.
President Trump shut that talk down.
The President told Georgians to ignore his friends and turn out and vote in record numbers to re-elect Loeffler and Perdue.
“A lot of people, friends of mine, say, ‘Let’s not vote, we’re not going to vote because we’re angry about the presidential election’ … it’s almost like a protest,” Trump stated. “But if you do that, the radical left wins.”
Trump explained that GOP voters staying home is the outcome the socialists and communists are hoping for.
“We can’t do that. We have to do just the opposite,” the President continued. “We can’t do that. If you don’t vote, the socialists and the communists win.”
The President told his supporters that they can fight to expose voter fraud and maintain the Republican Senate majority at the same time.
“Georgia patriots must show up and vote for these two incredible people,” the President declared. “They are two of the finest people you will ever meet. We can fight for the presidency and fight to elect our two great senators, and we can do it at the same time.”
Georgia is ground zero for the President’s allegations of massive voter fraud.
Those charges of fraud gained steam after video emerged showing poll workers dragging hidden suitcases full of ballots out from underneath a table at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta after Georgia officials claimed they were stopping the vote count on election night.
Georgia officials refused the President’s request to perform a signature audit on mail-in votes to determine if the signature on the ballot matched that on the envelope.
Some Republicans worried the Georgia officials not fighting for the President would lead to a schism in the party that would allow the Democrats to win two Senate seats that the GOP would otherwise win.
But President Trump’s call to arms that GOP voters must vote in record numbers to overcome any Democrat shenanigans will channel the anger of the Republican base into voter turnout in the Georgia Senate runoffs.
