Robert Mueller is spending every day working to take down Trump.
But now Trump is fighting back in a big way.
And it just came out that he’s doing one thing to destroy Mueller for good.
Trump’s Legal Team Exposing Mueller
With Robert Mueller’s full report on his investigation coming any day now, Trump’s legal team is getting prepared.
There’s no telling what will be in it, but with as shady as the investigation has been it likely won’t be good.
So as the first line of defense Trump’s legal team is looking to expose that shadiness.
Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani has confirmed he is compiling a counter-report to expose Mueller.
Until Mueller’s report is out much of it is on hold.
But there is a lot to talk about it in the meantime.
The final counter-report will contain two main sections.
The first section will examine the legitimacy of the investigation.
Most of that part will go over conflicts of interest.
The second half will respond directly to Mueller’s claims in the report.
That portion will take more time considering that nobody besides Mueller’s team knows what will be in the report.
Mueller’s Conflicts Of Interests Exposed
Conflicts of interest exist as far back as the inception of Russia collusion claims.
The first major conflict of interest has to do with the controversial Russia dossier.
Trump’s opponent Hillary Clinton funded much of the investigation in the dossier.
After all, it is nothing more than opposition research against Trump.
But the FBI justifies their spying on Trump officials with the dossier.
The man who compiled the dossier, Christopher Steele, also has shady connections of his own.
While working for Fusion GPS he had regular communication with Justice Department official Bruce Ohr.
Ohr’s wife Nellie works for Fusion GPS.
And much of the communications between Steele and Bruce Ohr had to do with the dossier.
But even later on in the investigation conflicts of interest arose.
One of Mueller’s close friends is former FBI Director James Comey.
Their friendship extends long before he became FBI Director.
Comey is who briefed Trump on the dossier for the first time.
That briefing was enough to justify the release of the dossier to the media.
And it was likely a planned operation.
The Meat Of Mueller’s Report
Directly countering claims in Mueller’s report will be difficult.
Until the report’s release, there is no way to tell what will be in it.
But as Giuliani points out, much of it will likely be information that is already public.
That means he will likely discuss situations like Donald Trump Jr.’s Trump tower meeting with a Russian.
Rebutting that will be easy.
First of all, the meeting itself had nothing substantial come from it, and even if it did it wouldn’t be illegal.
But also, Mueller hasn’t put in the effort to gain the truth on that situation.
The lawyer Trump met with has come out saying that Mueller hasn’t reached out to her.
If it is proof of collusion one would imagine Mueller would reach out to the lawyer most central to the meeting.
Beyond overplayed situations, there’s no telling what will be included.
Only time will tell.
But unless there’s a huge bombshell, Mueller will almost certainly lose any credibility he has left.
