President Donald Trump is no stranger to infuriating his left-wing enemies.
Barack Obama and Al Gore are two of those most furious with him.
And Trump just destroyed both of them with one move.
Since his embarrassing loss to George W. Bush in 2000, Al Gore has been grabbing for relevancy.
He is doing that through his dire warnings about “global warming” and man-made climate change.
In his 2006 movie An Inconvenient Truth, he predicts a future destroyed by global warming.
And his solution to the problem is to listen to him and pass his radical environmental agenda.
Once Barack Obama took office, he finally was given the opportunity to get it done.
Obama’s presidency was filled with dozens of radical environmental policies which were disastrous for the economy.
There was perhaps no industry affected more by Obama’s reign than the coal industry.
Communities relying on coal are still feeling the effects of Obama’s policies.
The rule most harmful is one that bans coal plants from emitting more than 1,400 pounds of carbon dioxide per megawatt hour.
It is an arbitrary number that is overly burdensome on the industry.
And it has less to do with “fighting climate change,” and more to do with destroying the coal industry.
That’s why President Trump is rescinding this policy, and changing the rule to limit the output to 1,900 pounds.
This will help make coal plants more productive and create jobs.
But it will be sure to infuriate both Barack Obama and Al Gore.
Since taking office President Trump has been reversing the radical environmental policies of the left.
The biggest move he has made is leaving the Paris Climate Agreement.
That one move is one of the defining moments of his presidency.
It is where he truly cemented his America First Agenda and his opposition to globalism.
And it is where he made it clear to Al Gore that he doesn’t buy into his agenda.
Just prior to taking office, Gore held a meeting with then-President Elect Trump.
In it, he explained why global warming is the biggest issue affecting the world today.
And, as he explains elsewhere, only passing his agenda will fix the problem.
But President Trump doesn’t believe him and understands that his climate agenda is nothing more than a left-wing scheme to grow government.
In a recent 60 Minutes interview, he makes that clear.
When asked about climate change, Trump acknowledges it but explains that it isn’t as big of a deal as is being made.
After being challenged about many scientists believing that man-made climate change is a vitally important issue, Trump points out that scientists have an “agenda.”
This is something that many refuse to acknowledge, but that scientists have political beliefs as well.
And if promoting “clean energy” is what they want, it shouldn’t be surprising if they overplay their hand to pass it.
So what they promote isn’t necessarily the truth.
Do you believe that “man-made climate change is a vitally important issue?
