Conservatives never trusted Mitt Romney.
Then Romney finally pulled the trigger on the ultimate betrayal.
And then Donald Trump dropped the hammer on Mitt Romney joining the Democrat Party in this ugly trade.
Mitt Romney led a group of 17 RINO Republicans that supported the Democrats plan to pass a $3.5 trillion socialist welfare and Green New Deal spending bill by providing votes for a so-called “infrastructure” bill the Democrats plan to use as a fig leaf of political cover to convince moderate Democrats to support the Bernie Sanders wish-list spending bill.
Romney and these Republicans that voted for open debate on the so-called “infrastructure” bill – it’s really a payoff to the union bosses that fund Democrat campaigns – know full well Democrats were using their votes to soften the opposition to a bill that will turn America into a cradle-to-grave welfare state and help kill the American energy industry.
When Romney and his fellow Democrat Party sympathizers announced that they had a “deal,” Donald Trump blistered these Biden loyalists by pointing out that the deal was a political loser and would damage Republicans chances to win back Congress in 2022.
“Hard to believe our Senate Republicans are dealing with the Radical Left Democrats in making a so-called bipartisan bill on ‘infrastructure,’ with our negotiators headed up by SUPER RINO Mitt Romney,” Trump began.
“This will be a victory for the Biden Administration and Democrats, and will be heavily used in the 2022 election. It is a loser for the USA, a terrible deal, and makes the Republicans look weak, foolish, and dumb. It shouldn’t be done.”
After Mitch McConnell joined Romney in supporting the Biden agenda of higher taxes, socialism, AOC’s Green New Deal style policies, Trump released another statement attacking McConnell for working with “Communist Democrats” to pass a big-government gravy train piece of legislation.
“Now he’s giving Democrats everything they want and getting nothing in return,” Trump wrote about McConnell.
“No deal is better than a bad deal. Fight for America, not special interests and Radical Democrats. RINOs are ruining America, right alongside Communist Democrats.”
Republican voters turned to Donald Trump in 2016 because establishment Republicans like Mitt Romney and Mitch McConnell refused to fight Democrats.
Romney never attacked Barack Obama in the 2012 race and Mitch McConnell repeatedly funded Barack Obama’s agenda as President.
Both Romney and McConnell believe the Republican Party’s job in Washington is to lose with dignity and not make life difficult for themselves or the Democrats.
But Donald Trump is making it clear that he intends to hold establishment Republicans accountable for refusing to fight for their voters.
