Jeff Sessions could lose his job any day now.
He isn’t doing the job he is supposed to do.
And if he doesn’t do one thing right away Trump will fire him.
Trump And Session’s Rocky Relationship
Donald Trump and Jeff Sessions have had a rocky relationship.
On the campaign trail Sessions was one of Trump’s biggest assets.
He was the first senator to endorse him.
And he joined him on the trail consistently.
Being a fighter who is tough on crime, Sessions hit it off with Trump quickly.
They got along so well Trump appointed him as Attorney General due to his perceived toughness.
But after some time in his position, it became clear he was all talk.
Sessions just isn’t doing his job.
When it comes to the Mueller probe, he isn’t stepping in.
And that is turning the president against him.
But despite that, Trump has let him stay in his job.
That is until now when there is another issue Sessions isn’t acting on.
Trump Makes A Surprising Friend
Perhaps the most surprising development of Trump’s presidency is his relationship with Kanye West.
West is one of the most well-known rappers in the world and has come out as a supporter of the president.
He likes him so much he wears a “Make America Great Again” hat everywhere.
Through that friendship, Trump has begun listening to West on some issues.
Most prominent is prison and sentencing reform.
On that issue, West has made great process with Trump.
West’s wife, Kim Kardashian also takes up the cause.
Earlier this year she met with Trump and successfully got him to pardon Alice Marie Johnson.
Johnson is a non-violent drug offender who was facing a life sentence.
And since making that move, sentencing and prison reform have become something Trump wants to push for.
Not only that, but Trump is now forcing Sessions to do the same, or risk losing his job.
Sessions On Crime
Everyone knows that Jeff Sessions believes in being tough on crime.
And in many ways, that’s a good thing to President Trump.
But since talking to many advocates of sentencing reform, he believes in giving more leniency to non-violent drug offenders.
Trump still wants to be harsh on violent offenders, and on drug dealers.
He just believes that drug users shouldn’t be thrown behind bars for life over crimes that don’t harm other people.
That is one issue that Sessions is not ok with.
He believes that those laws aren’t strict enough, and is fine with hefty sentences for those offenders.
But with Trump being his boss, he will either have to change that position or lose his job.
And with every day that goes by, the latter seems more likely.
Jeff Sessions isn’t on Trump’s good side.
Trump has gone after Sessions on Twitter more than once.
And has made it clear that he may fire him.
Do you think Trump should fire Jeff Sessions?
