To say that Trump’s year has been good would be an understatement.
He has won countless victories, cementing himself as the leader of the Republican Party.
And he just won an overnight victory that will cripple the establishment.
Socialist vs. Conservative
Florida’s election last night was a major win for President Trump.
Republicans backed his preferred candidate for governor.
That candidate, Ron DeSantis will run against Andrew Gillum come November.
Gillum serves as the Mayor of Tallahassee.
And in a victory tweet, Trump referred to Gillum as a socialist.
That label seems to fit considering his record and endorsements.
Gillum has the backing of socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Ocasio-Cortez has made a name for herself in the Democrat Party.
She is their socialist darling hoping to bring that message mainstream.
With her open support for abolishing ICE, she has made a lot of friends and enemies.
And like Ocasio-Cortez, Gillum made abolishing ICE a part of his platform.
In contrast, DeSantis supports President Trump’s platform.
A major part of his campaign is stopping illegal immigration.
Him being such a strong ally to President Trump is a huge blow to the establishment.
November Isn’t Looking Good For Democrats
With the midterm elections coming up quick things aren’t looking good for Democrats.
The economy is doing very well under President Trump.
That one fact is spelling trouble for Democrats.
With a message based around opposing Trump, that is especially true.
They aren’t bringing up solutions, instead focusing on bashing the president.
The only Democrats who seem to be bringing up solutions are the socialists.
And in states like Florida, that message isn’t going to resonate with voters.
Despite attempts to make socialism a positive term, it is a negative term for most voters.
It is so bad some Democrats are speaking out.
Outspoken Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth made the reasoning for that clear.
Expressing concern, she spoke out to CNN’s Jake Tapper on the issue.
Her concern is with elections in the Midwest but applies in the South as well.
Speaking of Ocasio-Cortez she said that her message is relevant in the Bronx, but not the Midwest.
Florida is alike in that way.
With Florida being a red-leaning state that supports Trump, Ocasio-Cortez being involved will likely spell trouble for that reason.
But only time will tell.
November Will Prove If Trump Is The Leader
Time will also tell whether Trump is the Republican leader he appears to be.
Polling shows strong Republican approval for Trump.
In fact, there’s no Republican to have stronger approval in their party at the same point than George W. Bush.
And November will prove if Trump’s support will make the difference.
With many Trump-backed candidates on the ballot, his support will make it or break it.
The race in Florida will further prove whether socialism is viable in red-leaning states.
Many Democrats are hoping to prove that and will fight hard to do so.
So it will truly be a key state in the upcoming election.
Do you think Republicans will do well in November?
