Robert Mueller has been quiet in recent days.
He hasn’t released anything new in a long time.
And Trump just made Mueller tremble in fear with one statement.
Mueller’s Failed Investigation
At the start of his investigation, people stood with Robert Mueller.
Even President Trump was initially welcoming of the investigation to clear his name.
And a fairly conducted investigation would prove he’s innocent.
But Mueller’s investigation is far from fair.
It is a witch hunt, plain and simple.
Virtually everybody on his team is a Democrat.
The investigation kicked off with support from the Democrats.
It is Hillary Clinton and the Democrats who funded the dossier that began everything.
The FBI used that dossier to obtain a FISA warrant on Carter Page.
Rod Rosenstein used that warrant application to form Mueller’s special counsel.
It is these facts that are turning America away from Mueller.
Only the most dedicated anti-Trump resistance supporters still believe him now.
Even his harshest critics don’t believe Mueller anymore.
Will Trump End Mueller?
It is for that reason that Trump is likely to end his investigation.
He has made it well known he wants it to end.
And if it weren’t for Jeff Sessions sitting on his hands it likely would be.
So when Trump was on 60 Minutes it was one question that came up.
Lesley Stahl asked the president if he would pledge not to end Mueller’s investigation.
And if Stahl knew anything about Trump, she would know that is a stupid question.
“Well, I — I don’t pledge anything,” Trump responded.
It isn’t the first time Trump is refusing to take a pledge.
During the 2016 election, he angered many by refusing to pledge support to the Republican nominee for president, if it wasn’t him.
His reasoning then was that things change and he can’t make solid commitments on some things.
He doesn’t want to become a pledge breaker, essentially.
Despite his refusal to take it off the table, Trump did make it clear that if it were to end, it won’t end now, saying:
“But I will tell you, I have no intention of doing that.”
While that may seem like a good thing for Mueller, his lack of a pledge is bad news for him.
Everything For Trump And Mueller Could Change After The Midterms
One important event is weeks away.
That’s the midterm elections.
Democrats are fighting to regain control of the House and Senate.
And if they do either, it will be bad news for Trump and good news for Mueller.
Democrats are grasping to anything they can use to harm Trump.
While Mueller doesn’t have much, he is often seen as their last hope.
If they regain control, protecting him will be a major priority.
But if Republicans do well, Mueller will be done for.
Trump will have already proven himself, and that the American people stand with him.
He will also have a Congress that won’t fight to protect Mueller.
Do you think Trump should fire Mueller after the midterms?
