Since taking office, President Trump has been rolling back the agenda of Barack Obama.
Piece by piece, everything he was able to achieve in his eight years in office is imploding.
And now Trump is about to ruin Obama’s year with one bold move.
In recent days, a Federal Judge in Texas ruled that Obama’s infamous Obamacare bill is unconstitutional.
Obama is absolutely furious, especially with that being his biggest achievement in office.
But his losses under President Trump are far from over.
Shortly after the Judge’s ruling, the Trump administration released a new list of policies on school safety.
And the proposals will roll back moves by Obama to discourage schools from disciplining students.
In 2014, Obama’s administration went after discipline in schools because of the perceived racial disparities in punishment.
Obama’s Department of Education claimed that “black students are suspended and expelled at a rate three times greater than white students.”
The main part of the changes mandates the use of counseling, behavioral support, and mentoring in lieu of arresting offending students.
Those changes have been coming under renewed scrutiny in wake of the Parkland, Florida school shooting earlier this year.
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 students and staff members were killed uses the Obama-era discipline standards.
And police were not able to adequately act before the shooting due to Obama’s Department of Education changes.
School officials knew of the shooter’s behavioral issues during his time as a student, and that he had weapons with the intention of violently using them.
And if it weren’t for the Obama-era guidelines, law enforcement would have been able to step in.
Instead, he was able to stay off the radar, and later commit one of the worst acts of mass violence in U.S. history.
Trump’s School Safety Commission is led by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is taking proactive steps to prevent future school shootings.
They also have other proposals to finally give schools the protection they need to take on shooters directly.
Among the other proposals are installing blast-proof glass on school buildings, and allowing school personnel to be armed.
The biggest reason shooters target schools is that they are soft targets.
Virtually every mass shooting occurs in a gun free zone, as it allows those bent on committing evil to inflict the most harm possible before armed resistance can stop them.
Allowing teachers to be armed gives them a chance to stop the shooter immediately.
And it sends a message to potential shooters that schools aren’t the soft targets they once were.
But the left doesn’t care about that.
They are so hell-bent on passing their anti-gun agenda that they refuse to consider real solutions.
But President Trump realizes that guns aren’t the problem, but rather the solution.
Everything that is valued in society is protected by firearms.
Many of the Democrat politicians working to keep teachers from carrying guns have their own armed security.
It only makes sense to give our children the same protection.
