President Trump made a lot of promises when he ran for President.
Unlike most politicians, he has followed through on many.
So far his biggest promise hasn’t been fulfilled, but that will change after Trump supporters get the big news they’ve been waiting for.
There wasn’t a campaign rally where then-Presidential candidate Donald Trump didn’t talk about building a wall on the southern border.
The mere mention of the wall would virtually always lead towards a “build the wall” chant.
Trump supporters clearly want a border wall, which would serve to slow the massive levels of illegal immigration.
President Trump has been making headway towards the wall, but so far has faced extreme opposition from Democrats.
After spending time at the border, checking out border wall prototypes, one of Trump’s biggest allies dropped huge news.
Rep. Steve King (R-IA), while speaking with Breitbart News Sunday stated Congress should fund the whole wall in the upcoming omnibus spending battle.
“Let’s fund the whole wall and let’s build it all” stated King.
This is big news for Trump supporters.
King is making it clear that Republicans are going to stand up and work Trump’s agenda into law.
As reported by Breitbart:
“Rep. Steve King (R-IA) told Breitbart News Sunday hosts Matthew Boyle and Amanda House that Congress should fund the wall in the ensuing omnibus spending battle, saying, “Let’s fund the whole wall and let’s build it all.”
Rep. King told Breitbart News Sunday about the incoming omnibus spending bill that Congress has to pass before this Friday.
Well, this method of governing is just so messy that it puts any member of Congress in a position where maybe you can pick one thing and then beat the drum to try to keep that from getting slipped in there. Or you can beat the drum and try to get it slipped in to get the funding. Of course, there’s a list of things that I want to see: let’s fund the wall, let’s fund the whole wall, and let’s build it all. I used to say let’s build the wall until they stop going around the end.”
“Rep. King also called for Congress to defund sanctuary cities in the incoming spending bill.
“Defund Sanctuary cities and of course the state of California,” King charged. “I would shut down every dollar going into that state until they began to honor their obligation to the United States of America. They don’t have the authority to be sanctuary cities and states.”
Even with Representatives like Steve King willing to fight for the wall, it will still be a struggle to get it done.
Before the wall can be built, Congress must approve funding for the wall.
Democrats, many of whom voted to build the current border fence, and are dedicated to making it as difficult as possible on Trump and anti-illegal immigration Republicans.
