Trump Is Done Playing Games With Robert Mueller.
While his investigation was at one point a good opportunity to clear Trump’s name, it has now become a weapon for Democrats to attack anyone close to Trump.
Because of this, Trump’s lawyer just sent a bone-chilling warning to Robert Mueller.
There’s perhaps no New Yorker more famous than Donald Trump. It’s where he got his start in real estate, prior to getting into the business of making America great again through politics.
Because of his reputation as a New Yorker, it only makes sense that his lawyer would have a similar reputation. That’s why it makes sense that he hired former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Giuliani is a longtime friend of Trump’s, and one of the few people who have a reputation of being as tough as the President. So when it comes to dealing with Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Giuliani hasn’t minced words.
Recently Giuliani stated that he believes Mueller will have his investigation finished by September. While at the time of that statement it appeared to be nothing more than speculation, Giuliani recently made it clear that he meant what he said.
The former New York City mayor now representing the President stated that if Mueller’s investigation isn’t wrapped up by September he will be “doing a Comey.”
“Doing a Comey” is almost certainly a reference to President Trump’s firing of former FBI Director James Comey in May of 2017. Comey was fired for multiple reasons; with not being able to effectively do his job as the main overarching theme.
Robert Mueller seems to be in the same boat. After running his investigation for over a year, he has come up with very little real evidence of the President’s campaign colluding with Russia. And any “evidence” he uncovered seemed to be easily discredited.
Unless Mueller can pull out some actual evidence of collusion with Russia, it will be extremely difficult for his investigation to be seen as anything other than an anti-Trump attack.
The main piece of evidence revealed by Mueller was a meeting with a Russian lawyer attended by Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., and his former campaign manager Paul Manafort. Despite that meeting being the high-point of the investigation, the Russian lawyer in question has come forward to state that Mueller never spoke with her during the investigation.
Giuliani’s call to end the investigation in September is significant. September was likely not arbitrarily chosen, but rather chosen due to the November midterm elections being the next month.
One of the major attacks being used by Democrats against Trump-aligned Republicans running for election, or re-election in November is Russian collusion. They are painting President Donald Trump, and his allies, and shills for Russian interests about American interests.
They make this claim despite Trump’s recent clashes with Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin, over military action in Syria.
If Mueller’s investigation continues through the November midterms, it will be abused by Democrats to attempt to harm Republicans. But if Mueller’s report is released in September, and it proves that Trump did not collude with Russia, it could be highly damaging to Democrats who have been pushing the claims Mueller was tasked with proving for well over a year.
So whether or not President Trump is forced to fire Mueller, one thing is clear: The investigation probably won’t last long, especially with Rudy Giuliani pushing back.
