But in the wake of the riot at the Capitol where crazed attackers tried to disrupt the session where Ocasio-Cortez and other members of Congress feared for their lives, Ocasio-Cortez has now decided that since police did something for her, they are all no longer racist, killer psychopaths.
Tucker Carlson tore into Ocasio-Cortez for her shallowness and her hypocrisy.
Defunding the police turned into a major political loser for Democrats in the 2020 election.
Ocasio-Cortez’s very public support for the disastrous policy allowed Republicans to tag Democrats as the party of defunding the police.
That led to the GOP picking up 14 seats in the House this past November when Nancy Pelosi predicted Democrats would pad their majority by netting an additional 15 or 20 seats.
To be clear, Ocasio-Cortez is not abandoning her support for defunding the police.
But she is making it clear that while she realizes police protection is necessary to provide security for members of Congress, it is not essential for the general public.
