Tucker Carlson has had the highest-rated show on Fox News for several years.
Liberals fought for years to cancel him.
And now Tucker Carlson took a new job that will change Fox News forever.
Tucker Carlson signed on to host two projects with Fox Nation, the two-year old streaming service from Fox News.
Carlson will produce a three times a week podcast and a monthly original program that will focus on a single issue.
Outkick.com reported, “Produced by Tucker Carlson Tonight SEP Justin Wells and the team behind the 5-year-old primetime show, the podcast will take on much of the format of Tucker Carlson Tonight with interviews and topical discussions. In addition, the monthly Tucker Carlson Originals will drill down on a single topic or issue.”
Carlson announced his expanded role at Fox News as a continuation of his quest to challenge the dominant narratives in the activist media as well as cover the issues that working Americans care about, but that typical anchors in Washington and New York ignore.
“This is my 12th year at Fox News and I’ve never been more grateful to be here,” Carlson stated. “As other media outlets fall silent or fall in line, Fox News Media’s management has redoubled its commitment to honesty and freedom of speech. I consider that heroic at a time like this.”
Fox Nation head Jason Klarman declared his excitement to bring Carlson’s talents to the streaming platform.
“As we continue to expand and evolve as a service, adding exclusive content from Tucker Carlson will make Fox Nation a must-have service for his most passionate fans,” Klarman exclaimed.
Carlson signed a new contract with Fox News to expand his role on a direct-to-consumer streaming platform at times when CNN, The New York Times and the Washington Post all voiced support for campaigns to pressure cable companies to drop Fox News or cut their subscription fees to choke off their revenue supply.
Streaming content offers Fox a chance to avoid advertiser and cable operator boycotts and pressure campaigns by allowing Fox News’ audience to consume the product free from third parties.
Carlson is Fox News Channel’s most popular host.
Even former viewers that soured on Fox News Channel for perceived anti-Trump bias during and after the election still watch Carlson’s show on a regular basis.
Broadening Carlson’s portfolio to add digital projects makes all the sense in the world for Fox.
Adding Carlson—the crown jewel of Fox News’ primetime lineup—to the streaming service is a card Fox can play to build up their subscriber base to insulate the network against left-wing cancel culture.
