Former President Barack Obama turned America into the laughing stock of the world.
But President Trump is turning things around.
And a world leader just sent Trump one demand that could mean World War 3.
There may be no country in the world more hostile toward the United States and its allies than Iran.
Iran is the number one state sponsor of terror in the world, and they have for many years been trying to obtain a nuclear weapon.
If Iran succeeds in gaining that weapon, they will use it to bully the world, and particularly target Israel, which is the biggest ally of the United States.
Iranian leaders hate Israel simply for existing.
They don’t believe there should be a Jewish state, and they will do anything in their power to destroy Israel for that reason.
But with President Trump leading the United States, that isn’t going to happen.
Trump is ensuring that Iran doesn’t obtain a nuclear weapon.
After getting into office, President Trump withdrew the United States from the disastrous Iran Nuclear Deal, which was implemented by former President Obama.
The deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is seen as the crowning foreign policy achievement of the Obama administration.
Obama’s deal purports to block Iran from obtaining the weapon by forcing restrictions and required inspections to ensure their weapons plan is not making progress.
In exchange for those terms, the U.S. lifted crippling sanctions that benefit Iran with billions and billions of dollars in trade.
But it didn’t take long to realize that Iran wasn’t listening to Obama’s deal.
So in May of last year, Trump removed the U.S. from the deal.
With the U.S. leaving the deal, the only three countries still participating in the agreement are Britain, France, and Germany.
And Iran is furious.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, recently came out stating he would resume the terms in the deal, as long as Iran can begin selling oil to western nations.
“Iran… will return to full implementation of the JCPOA only if it is able to sell its oil and to fully benefit from the income from these sales,” said Araghchi.
But that isn’t all he wants.
Now he is demanding $15 billion to resume the agreement.
“Returning to full implementation of the JCPOA is subject to receiving $15 billion over a period of four months, otherwise the process of Iran reducing its commitments will continue,” he said.
But even Araghchi acknowledges that the terms are very unlikely to be met.
“I don’t think the European countries will be able to take an effective step before Friday,” he said.
Iran is clearly getting desperate.
But President Trump is almost certainly not going to go along with the terms laid out.
Trump understands that he is the most powerful person at the negotiating table and that when he negotiates with Iran, he is essentially talking to terrorists.
With Israel being in such danger from Iran, he isn’t going to give them much sympathy.
Are you glad that Trump is President instead of Obama?
