Joe Biden slandered millions of Americans as following “semi-fascism.”
It’s terrible how he’s justifying his lies.
You won’t believe how Joe Biden reacted to this demand for a huge apology.
Last week President Joe Biden stood before Independence Hall in Philadelphia that was lit blood red and demonized 74 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump as “threats” to America.
“MAGA Republicans have made their choice. They embrace anger, they thrive on chaos, they live not in the light of truth but in the shadow of lies — but together, together we can choose a different path,” he claimed.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said the president should “apologize for slandering tens of millions of Americans as ‘fascists.’”
But Biden isn’t backing down from his attacks. On Sunday White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre doubled down instead of apologizing for Biden’s words.
MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart referenced McCarthy’s remark on Sunday and asked Jean-Pierre if the president “owes half the country an apology.”
Jean-Pierre claimed that he was only talking about an “extreme” faction of Republicans that have control of the party.
“The president was very clear, all you have to do, again, folks need to watch his speech, go read his speech if you haven’t. It is powerful, it is impactful and you will hear directly from the commander-in-chief what he was speaking to,” the press secretary said. “And he actually called out, he called out mainstream Republicans, Democrats, Independents to come join him, to help protect, to fight to protect our democracy. So it was about a specific, particular, extreme, extreme part of the party that has taken over.”
Jean-Pierre added the additional claim that vilifying Republicans was essential to protect American values.
“It is up to us in this moment to make sure that we are protecting the values of this country. That’s why he did this speech at this Independence Hall,” she concluded.
On last Thursday’s press briefing, Jean-Pierre claimed that Republican leaders’ stances on abortion and other “fundamental rights” are “extreme.”
Yet the positions that the White House describes as “extreme” are mainstream Republican positions. Seventy percent of Republicans would describe themselves as “pro-life.” And if Democrats were to expand on the list of “extreme” viewpoints they would include other common positions such as having basic safeguards on elections like voter ID.
This isn’t a new position for Democrats to take.
Back in 2016 Hillary Clinton said that half the supporters of her Republican rival Donald Trump belonged in a “basket of deplorables” of people who were racist, homophobic, sexist, xenophobic, or Islamophobic.
Democrats truly believe that anyone not supporting their far-left agenda is a bad person and Biden is willing to openly push that position from his position as president.
Despite his campaign promise to be a “unifier” Biden has proved to be the most divisive president in American history.
