J.D. Vance traveling to the Munich Security Conference and torching the Europeans for backsliding into totalitarianism by restricting free speech triggered one of the all-time media meltdowns.
In one 24-hour span, CBS brought more disgrace upon itself like no other network before in defense of political censorship.
On Sunday night, 60 Minutes aired a piece lionizing German prosecutors for ordering police to raid citizens homes, arrest them, and confiscate their phones for posting memes online that liberals don’t like.

Earlier that day, Face the Nation anchor Margaret Brennan made a fool of herself during an interview with Secretary of State Marco Rubio where she tried to go after Vance by falsely claiming free speech caused the Holocaust.
“Well, he was standing in a country where free speech was weaponized to conduct a genocide, and he met with the head of a political party that has far-right views and some historic ties to extreme groups,” Brennan stated.
Vance responded on social media and nuked Brennan from orbit in his typical simple but devastating fashion by asking a simple question.
“This is a crazy exchange. Does the media really think the holocaust was caused by free speech?” Vance asked.

White House communications director Stephen Cheung fired off a more aggressive response.
“Margaret Brennan of CBS News is going through some bizarre episode as she makes disgusting excuses for Nazis and the Holocaust,” Cheung wrote on X.
For his part, Rubio calmly responded to Brennan’s historical ignorance by explaining the truth of how the evil Nazi regime stripped citizens of their free speech rights and then murdered six million Jews simply because Nazis hated Jews.
“The genocide was conducted by an authoritarian Nazi regime that happened to also be genocidal because they hated Jews and they hated minorities and they hated those that they- they had a list of people they hated, but primarily the Jews. There was no free speech in Nazi Germany. There was none. There was also no opposition in Nazi Germany, they were a sole and only party that governed that country. So that’s not an accurate reflection of history,” Rubio stated.
But this episode was indicative of what Brennan and the left actually believe.
Brennan and other media figures believe anyone they disagree with is a Nazi.
Brennan and other media figures think that unless they restrict the free flow of information, then the people they disagree with – i.e. the Nazis – will win elections.
Therefore, to Brennan and the media, free speech is a bad thing.
