The View is one of the most anti-Trump shows on television.
It’s true cringe television.
And The View cohosts just received one order that will change everything,
There is no show on television that features more cringe in opposition to Donald Trump than The View.
But the mood onset in recent months is even more morbid than one would’ve expected since Donald Trump took office.
That’s because show executives told the co-hosts to dial back the attacks on Donald Trump in the early days of the administration.
“One source close to the show’s co-hosts — Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro — said the fear and loathing is partly because Brian Teta, executive producer of the daytime gab-fest, spoke to staffers about “going easy” on Trump-related commentary in the days leading up to the 47th president taking the oath of office,” the New York Post exclusively reported.
The concern at the network isn’t about making nice with Donald Trump though.
Network bigwigs are afraid of another multimillion dollar payment being forked over to Trump like the $16 million settlement ABC already paid out after anchor George Stephanopoulos falsely stated a jury adjudicated Trump as a rapist.
On one post-election broadcast of The View, the co-hosts had to read three different legal notes on-air to keep from getting sued after making potentially defamatory statements about Trump’s cabinet members.
The first involved baseless charges that then-Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz had sex with a minor, a crime the weaponized Biden Justice Department investigated but never brough criminal charges for.
“I have a legal note,” co-host Sunny Hostin stated. “Matt Gaetz has long denied all allegations and has not been charged with any crime.”
Hostin then had to read another legal note about Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth and the false allegations facing him.
“Also, another legal note,” Hostin added. “Pete Hegseth’s lawyer said he paid [his assault accuser] in 2023 to head off the threat of a baseless lawsuit. He has denied any wrongdoing. “
The final legal notice involved evidence-free claims that then-Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi decided not to investigate Trump University after Trump donated to her campaign.
“Both Trump and Bondi have denied allegations of a quid pro quo that his past donation played any role in her office’s decision not to take legal action against Trump University when she was attorney general of Florida,” Hostin added.
Bill O’Reilly recently predicted ABC will license The View out to another network.
Unhinged Trump hatred is bad for business on every front.
