Leftist gunman espousing anti-Trump conspiracy theories allegedly attempted to assassinate President Trump at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner.
This was the third assassination attempt by a Trump-hating leftist in the last 20 months.
Standing at the podium in the White House briefing room, press secretary Karoline Leavitt tore into Democrats for the constant stream of insults and slurs they hurl at Trump, explaining that the lies about Trump being a Naxi and a fascist carry consequences.
“I think you heard it directly from the president on Saturday night. That, in his words, we need to recommit ourselves as a country to tone down the rhetoric and to unify around what makes our country great,” Leavitt stated. “That’s true of everyone who works in this White House. But as I said, it’s also true of everyone who has a voice and a platform across this country.”
Leavitt stated that “it is the entire Democrat Party that has made their pitch to voters across the country that Donald Trump poses an existential threat to democracy, that he is a fascist, and that they compare him to Hitler. I mean, these are despicable statements that the American people have been consuming for years, and so many mentally perturbed individuals are led to believe these words are truths and then are inspired to act on them.”
Leavitt then listed a series of deranged quotes from top Democrats beginning with Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) declaring “we are in an era of maximum warfare everywhere” against Trump and Republicans.
“Rep. Hakeem Jeffries this month said, “We are in an era of maximum warfare everywhere, all the time. Gov. Josh Shapiro said, “Heads need to roll within the administration.” Sen. Alex Padilla said people are, quote, “Dying because of fear and terror caused by the Trump administration.” Sen. Elizabeth Warren, “President Trump is making the country look like a” quote, “fascist state.” Sen. Adam Schiff is saying President Trump is using a “dictator playbook.” Sen. Ed Markey, calling President Trump “a dictator,” said that this administration’s actions are “authoritarianism on steroids,” Leavitt continued.
“Gov. J.B. Pritzker, “Never before in my life have I called for mass protest disruptions. These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace.” You have Rep. Ayanna Pressley saying, “We’ll see you in the streets. Rep. LaMonica McIver, a Democrat representative on Capitol Hill, said, “We will not take this shit from Donald Trump. He thinks he’s a dictator. We are at war,” Leavitt concluded.
Democrats feel free to call Trump vile names and rile up their base because they know the liberal media won’t hold them to account.
