Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez thought she finally had the upper hand in her battle with Border Czar Tom Homan.
Ocasio-Cortez is willing to fight dirty.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hit Tom Homan with this nasty curveball.
As Great American Digest reports:
A furious Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fired off a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi demanding an answer as to if she was under criminal investigation.
“I write to request clarity on whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) has yielded to political pressure and attempts to weaponize the agency against elected officials whose speech they disagree with,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote.
Ocasio-Cortez cited numerous media interviews where border czar Homan said he asked the Department of Justice if Ocasio-Cortez criminally impeded ICE operations to carry out President Trump’s proposed mass deportations.
“Over the past two weeks, ‘Border Czar’ Tom Homan has gone on multiple forums threatening political prosecution against me, citing resources I distributed informing my constituents and the American public of their constitutional and legal rights,” the letter continued.
The controversy stemmed from a “Know Your Rights” webinar that Ocasio-Cortez’s office held that instructed illegal aliens on how to evade ICE arrests.
Homan was furious and told Sean Hannity that Ocasio-Cortez interfered with ICE operations.
“We all know what she’s up to. She wants to tell these people how to evade arrest, how to evade ICE and we still got child predators we’re looking for in New York and her district. People convicted of child sex crimes, people who’ve been convicted of rape, and she wants to say she’s educating them in constitutional rights,” Homan stated.
Ocasio-Cortez has a First Amendment right which she would raise in any trial, so Homan said he reached out to the Department of Justice to inquire where the line is between protected speech and criminal impediment of a law enforcement operation.
Homan asked, “But at what point do you cross the line on saying you’re educating people versus you’re teaching them how to evade ICE arrest? So I’ve asked that question to the Department of Justice for clear guidance so I can share that with the officers of ICE. So we’re looking for that clear direction so we can start taking action on people that want to evade, who want to help educate these people to evade ICE, so hopefully any day now we get that guidance sent out to the field.”
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to position herself as the number-one opponent of mass deportations ahead of what is a likely 2028 presidential campaign.
And Ocasio-Cortez saw how Democrats indicting Trump boosted his appeal to the voters by turning him into a sympathetic figure.
And now Ocasio-Cortez hopes this letter to the Department of Justice will elevate her to martyr status in the Democrat Party even though – unlike Donald Trump – she is facing real allegations of wrongdoing.
