Attorney General Pam Bondi had a statement to make.
It wasn’t what Trump supporters were expecting.
And Pam Bondi’s arrest bombshell made Americans sit up and take notice.
As Great American Digest reports:
American special forces accompanied FBI agents on a raid in Venezuela to capture President Nicolas Maduro.
Trump spent much of his first term and the first year of his second term seeking to remove Maduro from power over Maduro’s government for smuggling drugs and illegal aliens into America.
The arrest culminated a months-long pressure campaign where Trump ordered the largest military buildup in the Caribbean, missile strikes against drug-running boats, closed the airspace above Venezuela, and imposed a complete naval blockade to choke off Venezuela’s oil exports.
President Trump announced the arrest of Maduro and his wife on Truth Social.
Attorney General Pam Bondi then outlined the charges against the Maduros on X.
Bondi revealed federal prosecutors slapped Maduro and his wife with Nacro-Terrorism charges, drug dealing, and illegal possession of firearms.
“Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, have been indicted in the Southern District of New York. Nicolas Maduro has been charged with Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy, Cocaine Importation Conspiracy, Possession of Machineguns and Destructive Devices, and Conspiracy to Possess Machineguns and Destructive Devices against the United States,” Bondi stated.
Bondi assured Americans that Maduro would face justice.
“They will soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts. On behalf of the entire U.S. DOJ, I would like to thank President Trump for having the courage to demand accountability on behalf of the American People, and a huge thank you to our brave military who conducted the incredible and highly successful mission to capture these two alleged international narco traffickers,” Bondi added.
This arrest was months in the making as the Department of Justice announced a $50 million bounty on Maduro for his arrest.
“The Department of State and the Department of Justice are announcing a reward offer increase of up to $50 million under the Narcotics Rewards Program (NRP) for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Nicolás Maduro for violating U.S. narcotics laws.
For over a decade, Maduro has been a leader of Cartel de los Soles, which is responsible for trafficking drugs into the United States. On July 25, 2025, the U.S. Department of the Treasury designated Cartel de Los Soles as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT),” a Department of Justice press release read.
