Fox News keeps finding itself inside a courtroom.
The source of latest legal drama is a surprise.
And this $30 million lawsuit has Fox News slamming the panic button.
Tony Bobulinski came forward in October 2020 to tell the world that Communist China compromised Joe Biden through millions of dollars in payments to the Biden family through Hunter Biden’s business deals.
Bobulinski was a former Hunter Biden business associate who wanted the American people to hear what he had to say before they cast their votes.
Bobulinski recently served as the star witness at the House Oversight Committee’s public impeachment inquiry hearing.
During his testimony Bobulinski listed the crimes he believed Joe Biden committed and told Congress he has emails and text messages to back up his claims.
Ever since the impeachment inquiry began, Democrats and the media sought to discredit the effort claiming there was no evidence of wrongdoing.
Bobulinski destroyed that lie.
That lie meant Bobulinski needed to be destroyed.
Fox News’ “The Five’s” liberal co-host Jessica Tarlov went on the air and implied that Trump allies bought Bobulinski’s testimony.
“Tony Bobulinski’s lawyers’ fees have been paid by a Trump Super PAC that’s as recent as January,” Tarlov stated. “Do you think that a guy who’s invested in how much better off he wants the United States to be—and really getting to the bottom of this—would be taking money from the guy who extorted the Ukrainians to get dirt on the Bidens?” Tarlov stated.
Bobulinski’s lawyer fired off a letter to Fox News informing the network that unless Tarlov apologized on the air, Bobulinski would sue her for defamation.
The next day, Tarlov tried to walk back her comments without apologizing.
And – as promised – Bobulinski filed a $30 million defamation suit against Tarlov and Fox News.
Bobulinski explained that this lawsuit was about restoring his reputation so the American people could fairly judge his testimony about Joe Biden’s alleged criminality and corruption.
“Today I filed a lawsuit against Ms. Jessica Tarlov of Fox News for defamation,” Bobulinski’s statement began. “Although I am seeking compensatory, special, and punitive damages from her for the damage her public remarks inflicted on my personal and professional reputation, this is not about money. This is about the truth, for which I have been fighting for four years. It is important for media personalities like Ms. Tarlov to understand that lies have consequences.
“I have consistently told the truth to the American people about the deep corruption of the Biden family and will continue to do, and I have paid my legal expenses arising from my decision to come forward out of my own pocket. I will donate every penny I may be awarded in this suit to a children’s hospital and to support our military Veterans. Ms. Tarlov refused to apologize and sincerely correct the record. I look forward to holding her accountable in a court of law and to continuing to bring the truth to the American people,” Bobulinski added.
