And CNN was forced to face this ugly truth about Joe Biden.
The special counsel investigating President Joe Biden’s handling of classified material concluded Biden could not be prosecuted due to Biden’s serious memory issues.
“Biden’s recorded conversations with [his ghostwriter Mark] Zwonitzer from 2017 are often painfully slow, with Mr. Biden struggling to remember events and straining at times to read and relay his own notebook entries,” Hur wrote.
“He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended (‘if it was 2013 when did I stop being Vice President?’), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began (‘in 2009, am I still Vice President?’). He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died.”
These revelations have caused problems for Democrats. A CNN panelist said on Thursday that Biden is facing a “five-alarm fire.”
“I don’t think he did himself any favors in that speech,” Alyssa Farah Griffin told CNN host Anderson Cooper.
“He undercut two of his biggest messages: The adults are back in charge, by sort of being dismissive. Yes, he was exonerated. He won’t be convicted or tried for this. But there were some really damning things. He had deliberation of Afghan war plans with him, he spoke to a biographer about classified documents who didn’t have clearance. This showed a decent level of recklessness of handling classified information.”
Griffin continued to elaborate the ways Biden has made his situation worse.
“They were using this bizarre line to say he stepped away from an international crisis, the biggest attack on our ally Israel since the Holocaust, to go deal with a self-inflicted investigation by the Department of Justice,” Griffin said. “How is that supposed to inspire confidence? I don’t know why he went back out. He already said most of this in Virginia. This is becoming a five-alarm fire for the White House.”
One Democrat strategist said the report from Hur was “worse than an indictment” in an interview with The Dispatch.
A Democrat House member, speaking anonymously, told NBC News the report was a “nightmare.”
They also added that “it weakens President Biden electorally, and Donald Trump would be a disaster and an authoritarian. For Democrats, we’re in a grim situation.”
