Michelle Obama recently warned Democrats that they couldn’t nominate a woman again for President in 2028.
In a conversation posted to her YouTube page, Obama claimed America was just too sexist to elect a female President.
“As we saw in this past election, sadly, we ain’t ready,” Obama ranted. “That’s why I’m like, don’t even look at me about running, because you all are lying. You’re not ready for a woman. You are not.”
“You know, we got a lot of growing up to do, and there’s still, sadly, a lot of men who do not feel like they can be led by a woman, and we saw it,” Obama added.
Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris in the 2016 and 2024 elections.
Joe Biden became President in 2020.
Democrats are taking stock of that electoral history, as well as Michelle Obama’s warnings ahead of the 2028 Presidential contest.
And Axios reports top Democrats are concluding that they need to nominate a “straight, white, Christian man,” in the mold of Joe Biden or Bill Clinton, if they hope to win back the White House.
Kamala’s frontrunner status rests on her strength with black voters, the core of the Democratic Party’s base.
In 2028, Democrats are staring down the barrel of the conundrum they faced in 2024, where ripping the nomination away from Kamala risks fracturing the coalition by alienating the party’s most loyal voters.
