The border crisis is making Joe Biden massively unpopular with voters.
He’s desperately looking for a way to avoid his biggest vulnerability.
Joe Biden has an insane plan to escape the blame for the border crisis.
According to recent polling, nearly 70% of Americans have a negative view of President Joe Biden’s handling of immigration.
Results from a Gallup poll taken between February 1 – 20th found that 59% of Americans disapprove of Biden.
Only 38% approve of Joe Biden.
“Americans’ approval of President Joe Biden’s job performance has edged down three percentage points to 38%, just one point shy of his all-time low and well below the 50% threshold that has typically led to reelection for incumbents,” Gallup reported on Friday.
“Biden’s approval rating has not risen above 44% since August 2021, and his 39.8% average rating for his third year in office was the second worst among post-World War II presidents elected to their first term.”
These are seriously disturbing numbers for Democrats especially in an election year.
Biden’s immigration policies that have allowed 8 million illegal immigrants to enter America freely are deeply unpopular with Americans.
A recent article in the New York Times suggested Democrats might find it in their advantage to pursue legal action against Biden to address border issues through executive actions.
The Times alleged Biden could potentially use executive action to prohibit immigrants who cross illegally into the United States from claiming asylum, thus sparking a legal backlash from his own side that would make him look more moderate on the issue by proxy.
“A legal fight, regardless of the outcome, could allow Mr. Biden to try to neutralize one of his biggest political vulnerabilities — the chaos at the southern border. Republicans have repeatedly used the border crisis to portray Mr. Biden as weak on enforcement. A legal battle would allow him to spotlight Republicans’ refusal to provide him the power to crack down at the border through legislation,” the New York Times wrote on Wednesday.
According to an ACLU attorney interviewed by the New York Times, there’s a real chance the organization would file a lawsuit against Biden if he implemented any executive actions related to the southern border.
Democrat strategist Brad Bannon agreed with the idea, telling the Daily Caller that such a scenario would be a “huge political positive.”
“I think from an obviously political standpoint, that scenario would benefit the president politically because he took executive action. The reality is, even if it gets blocked, it’s still good politics… In fact, it might even be good politics if someone succeeded in stopping it,” Bannon told the Daily Caller on Thursday.
