It turns out it was the Democrat Party with a corruption problem.
All the accusations against Donald Trump were just pure projection.
And one guilty verdict turned the Democrat Party upside-down.
Bob Menendez Was One of the Most Powerful Democratic Senators
The Bob Menendez case is a very serious one that threatens to cause immense problems for the Democrats, as it undermines their case that Donald Trump is corrupt.
In order for the American people to take their accusations against Trump seriously, they are going to have to show that their party is better, and the Menendez case seems to show the opposite.
Menendez was engaged in some very serious corruption involving foreign agents, and he was forced to resign from the Senate due to the controversy.
But despite his resignation, Democrats still can’t run away from Menendez.
After all, he is still very much in the news due to his recent 11 year sentence as a result of the criminal case.
And Democrats will have to answer for why they gave Menendez such a powerful position in the Senate in the first place.
He is one of the most corrupt Senators in recent memory, and Nancy Pelosi will have to deal with this as the de facto leader of the Democrat Party.
Menendez Sentenced to 11 Years in Prison Due to Corruption
According to Fox News, “A judge sentenced disgraced former Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., to 11 years in prison on Wednesday, concluding his trial for a ‘long-running bribery and foreign influence scheme of rare gravity.’”
“The sentence is the harshest ever handed down to a U.S. senator. Breaking down in tears, Menendez pleaded with U.S. District Judge Sidney Stein for mercy in a New York City courtroom.”
And Democrats should have known when the rumors started swirling about what he was up to that he had no business holding a powerful chairmanship in the Senate.
The article continues, “Prosecutors had requested a 15-year sentence for Menendez, 71, after he was convicted in July 2024 on 16 counts of bribery, extortion, conspiracy and obstruction of justice. He is the first U.S. senator in American history to be convicted of working as a foreign agent. His co-defendants, Wael Hana and Fred Daibes, were also sentenced to eight years and seven years, respectively.”
“Prior to the announcement of his sentence, Daibes, 67, tearfully told Stein the jury verdict had left him ‘borderline suicidal,’ and requested leniency so that he could care for his 30-year-old autistic son.”
This is something Democrats are going to have to reckon with for many years to come.
Menendez was one of the most powerful members of their party and they allowed him to climb the ranks despite his corruption.
And now Democrats may have to pay the price at the ballot box.
