Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg continues to come under scrutiny.
This time it’s not Buttigieg’s failures in office that are attracting attention.
And these porn charges are about to change everything for Pete Buttigieg.
Police arrested the 47-year-old Mayor of College Park, Maryland, Patrick Lewis Wojahn, on 56 charges involving child pornography.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted Prince George County Police that someone uploaded images and videos of child sexual exploitation to a social media account in the jurisdiction.
An investigation found the account belonged to Mayor Wojahn.
Mayor Wojahn resigned in disgrace.
“While this investigation does not involve any official city business of any kind, it is in the best interests of our community that I step aside and not serve as a distraction,” Wojahn’s resignation letter declared.
Wojahn then tried to deflect attention from his arrest by claiming he needed to deal with his mental health as if this was the passing of a loved one or something.
“Many of you have already reached out with well wishes and thoughts, and I am eternally grateful. I am stepping away to deal with my own mental health,” Wojahn added “I ask that you continue to keep me and my family in your prayers.”
Pete Buttigieg entered the story as when Wojahn ran for office in 2015 he reached out to a fellow homosexual Democrat Mayor in Pete Buttigieg.
Wojahn listed Pete Buttigieg as his mentor.
The Washington Blade reports:
“I actually met Mayor Pete Buttigieg shortly after I was elected mayor in 2015,” Wojahn said. “I went to the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Winter Meeting in D.C. in January and he was assigned to be my buddy.”
The two continued to talk over the phone and Buttigieg explained the conference to him and what would take place at the meeting. Later, they would both attend a White House reception during the Obama administration where Dave and Chasten (Buttigieg) would meet as well.
Buttigieg continued to mentor Wojahn, advising him on how to get the most out of his participation in the conference.
The corporate media has not asked Buttigieg any questions about mentoring an alleged child pornographer.
Reporters would never operate this way with a Republican in a similar situation.
In fact, the press would hound any Republican Transportation secretary who ignored a toxic train derailment, oversaw a supply chain crisis, and was asleep at the switch for an airline cancellation meltdown straight out of office.
But the press protects Buttigieg because reporters know he could be one of the fallback options for Democrats in the 2024 presidential race if Joe Biden opts not to run for re-election.
