An FBI informant has revealed shocking allegations about Joe Biden and a bribery scheme.
But now this informant has landed himself in hot water.
The DOJ is going after this whistleblower with shocking charges – but not for the reasons you’d think.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has charged an FBI informant for allegedly providing the FBI false information about President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.
Special Counsel David Weiss charged Alexander Smirnov with an 18 USC 1001: false statement, and 18 USC 1519: creating false and fictitious records, related to information he gave to his FBI handler about the Bidens.
According to the redacted FD-1023 form which Smirnov filed, the owner of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings, Mykola Zlochevsky, told him sometime in late 2015 or early 2016 that “it cost 5 [million] to pay one Biden, and 5 [million] to another Biden.”
Zlochevsky allegedly went on to comment that even though Hunter Biden “was stupid, and his (Zlochevsky’s) dog was smarter,” Zlochevsky needed to keep Hunter on Burisma’s board “so everything will be okay,” the document says.
According to the report, the informant then inquired whether either Hunter or Joe had told Zlochevsky to “retain” Hunter, to which Zlochevsky allegedly replied, “They both did.”
However, according to the indictment from the DOJ, the allegations Smirnov provided to his handler in June 2020 were “fabrications.”
“In truth and fact, [Smirnov] had contact with executives from Burisma in 2017, after the end of the Obama-Biden Administration and after the then Ukrainian Prosecutor General had been fired in February 2016, in other words, when [Joe Biden] had no ability to influence U.S. policy and when the Prosecutor General was no longer in office,” the indictment states.
“In short, [Smirnov] transformed his routine and unextraordinary business contacts with Burisma in 2017 and later into bribery allegations against [Joe Biden], the presumptive nominee of one of the two major political parties for President, after expressing bias against [Joe Biden] and his candidacy,” it continued.
In light of this news, Democrats are now claiming the DOJ’s impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden should be dropped.
However, Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) maintains that there is far more evidence of Biden corruption than a single FBI witness’s false testimony.
“To be clear, the impeachment inquiry is not reliant on the FBI’s FD-1023. It is based on a large record of evidence, including bank records and witness testimony, revealing that Joe Biden knew of and participated in his family’s business dealings,” Comer said.
